Overview of Fuxin City
Fuxin City is located in the northwest of Liaoning Province and is a typical resource-based city and the central city of the Liaoxi Mengdong Economic Zone. The total area of the city is 10400 square kilometers, with 5 districts (Haizhou District, Xinqiu District, Taiping District, Qinghemen District, Xihe District) and 2 counties (Fuxin Mongolian Autonomous County, Zhangwu County) under its jurisdiction, and a permanent population of 1.738 million people (2022 data). In 2022, the total regional GDP of the city reached 54.96 billion yuan.
Fuxin is an important national energy base and the first pilot city for economic transformation of resource depleted cities in China. It is known as the "City of Coal and Electricity" and "City of Agate", and is an important ecological barrier and production base for characteristic agricultural products in northwest Liaoning.
